Moringa Tree: Characteristics
The common name of the tree “Moringa Oleifera (Moringa oleifera).” The tree is covered with large white berries which provide us light green colour. Its flowers bear fruit shortly after which they turn pink. These fruits have slight seeds with thick seed shells which can be removed easily without damaging the fruit.
The tree is classified into two groups namely Moringa acutiflora and the rest of the species in which only 50% of the tree is deciduous. About 30-40 % is covered by lichens and grasses. The leaves are aromatic and dark green in color, however they fade in sunlight. They bear small scales resembling pine needles within one season.
The branches of the trees have thick skin with greenish tinge and red color along their edges. Their veins are reddish brown and their surface usually changes from greenish to red in the summer. In winter they change to bluish-green, but in the course of fall they become yellow and tan. The bark of the tree is mostly orange. Some varieties of this tree bear bright green fruits which are very similar to mango but bear seeds in spring. There are three forms of this tree which are; Dicot or Coppelia, Magnolia or Pompilipe and hybrids. The common type of trees are known as Moringa. The tree is very hardy which makes them spread all over the world.
Cisternum sylvestre: As mentioned before the flower of the tree bears small round shaped sweet scents known as “nurse of nectar trees”. The scent is so beautiful that people often use it from all around the world. The flowers of the tree are very tiny which make them beautiful. These flowers are called crescent flowers and bear fruit inside one seahorse. Due to lack of chemical substances, these duffles are not made and hence they can grow even without water. The fruit bears few seeds which make it easy for extraction; it is then boiled and dried in order to preserve it and distribute it to all kinds of customers. The fruits can never spoil themselves and if they do some damage due to exposure or improper handling; then the best option that we have is to eat the fruits of the tree instead. If you are suffering from cancer then these fruits help a lot in fighting such condition. Other diseases such as fever, malaria and typhoid have been cured by using the tree. Such small herbs like mustard, curry leaves etc, can act as pain killers and also helps in keeping away from infection of bacteria caused due to poor diet.
Moringa tree can cure diabetes, depression, cancer, infertility, fever, gonorrhea and other symptoms by the usage of its berries and flowers. The leaves obtained during harvesting of the fruit from the tree can be mixed with honey and applied on the affected area. For those who suffer from fever, malaria, typhoid and other related infections they can chew them. It is a very effective remedy which cures these problems without causing any side effects.
The tree is also very helpful for heart problems and can be used to treat cardiac disorders. According to a study conducted in 2008, moringa leaves were found to be extremely beneficial for treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
In general, there is no harm of consuming the berries or the roots of your choice. All the traditional uses of plants are done in moderation and due care and safety precautions have been taken. Do not get stuck with toxic chemicals or herbal items and always consult your doctor before starting any new remedy or herbal blend. Also avoid eating unhygienic food.
